Late night thoughts

Mo ń ronú nìkan - Just thinking

........ How did we get to where we are? The lives we live, the personality we perform. The customs and values we've come to follow. Some would say - that's just the way it has always been. Then I ask again "How did we get there?"

These questions sound like something a child would ask. And the answer you'd get? 'Don't you know — that's just the way we've been taught to think.' Personally I see so many things wrong with what we have come to treat as sacred — traditions, expectations, ways of being - and I wonder how much of it we actually chose. How much of it was handed to us warm, dressed up as truth, repeated until it felt like nature. Don't get me wrong I'm not here to tell you what's wrong and what's right.

Honestly, I don't have that kind of certainty tonight.
