Trying to Be Someone Else.
The version of you that wants to change is already enough — now it just needs a little work.
"Sometimes you don't need new, you need to improve the old"
There’s a common misconception about self-improvement, the idea that to “become a better version of yourself,” you need to start fresh, learn something new, or completely reinvent who you are.
Yes, some people genuinely want to start anew, learn a new skill, adopt a new ideology, or embrace a different lifestyle. But even when you say you want a “new you,” remember this: all those ideas, that desire for change, originates from you. The “you” that wants to improve is the same “you” that decides to make a change.
So instead of trying to completely replace who you are, consider this: improve the old you. Nurture it, refine it, strengthen it. After all, it’s the same old you that decided it wanted to grow….. doesn’t that make the old you a little genius?
